Building on linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, students extend their repertoire of functions to include polynomial, rational, and radical functions. Students work closely with the expressions that define the functions, and continue to expand and hone their abilities to model situations and to solve equations, including solving quadratic equations over the set of complex numbers and solving exponential equations using the properties of logarithms. Students will also learn trigonometric functions as they relate to Calculus.

This course will be very demanding. The ultimate goal is to prepare students to take AP Calculus in Grade 11. It is CRITICAL that students having any difficulty see Mr. Troutman for help, immediately. The content of the course, generally, builds on previous knowledge. Therefore, students struggling will continue to struggle. Mr. Troutman is available for help after school on Monday, Tuesday and Friday as well as any recess, lunch period or before school.
